Chosen

It's certainly been a long time since I have posted anything here. But, there is a message of hope that is playing within my spirit that I believe many people would benefit from hearing. My Pastor preached this in the church, and it still resonates within me, so I pray that you will receive...

The Bible says in 1 Peter 2:9, "But ye are a chosen generation..." The Word 'chosen' stands out to me as I learn more about who I am. Chosen. When I reflect on the life I lived in my almost 40 years, there were many times I thought that there was no reason for my existence. As a teen, I used to write in my journals about how I felt lost and unwanted and had no purpose in life. Even after I got married and had my baby girl I found myself crying all the time because of the mental and emotional abuse I endured. I thought that I would have been better off dead! I believed that I was insignificant, worthless, ugly and alone. But, along the way I encountered Jesus. I found out that I was never a mistake to Him. I felt His love encompass me about and I witnessed Him showing up for me to defend, protect, provide and heal me, over and over again. Today, I know I was made to become and to accomplish great things! God takes nothing (like me) and turns it into something beautiful...

I am not sure what you had to live through. I don't know if you recognize that you were specifically selected - CHOSEN- by God for greatness! I declare today that you and I are chosen to reign. We are chosen to prosper. We are chosen to live an abundant life. We are chosen to have joy, peace and rest despite our circumstances. We are chosen to be loved. We are chosen to be accepted. We are chosen to have the victory!

Favor is Coming!

It's been quite a long time since I've shared my thoughts with you. But, today a word is bubbling up within me that I just want to burst it out to the world! For so long I've lived my life thinking that good things are only a part of my dreams and that my reality looks different. But, as of recently, I have reason to change that mindset - and His name is Jesus Christ!
The Bible says in Joshua 3:13

I believe now, that it is my time for favour. It is the time for the Presence of God within me to overtake me and go before me. I am about to stretch out into the unknown, out of my comfort zone, and I am confident that as soon as the soles of my feet shall rest in that new place, every obstacle, barrier, and hindrance will heap to the side, and the Presence of the Lord within me will go before me, and grant me favor indeed!

This is not for me only. This is for all of us. Don't be afraid to step out. Don't be afraid to go forth. Don't be afraid to DREAM. Don't be afraid of success. You are, WE are, children of God and success and prosperity are parts of our inheritance! I encourage you all today - move forward!

His Forgiveness

SO many of us in the Kingdom strive every day to walk uprightly with God. However, sometimes this can be a great battle, in which many soldiers have been consumed. When we give in to the temptations and fall backward in our walk, we are left feeling ashamed, guilty, and rejected - by people, and by God Himself. But, Acts 5:31 states that, '...God exalted Him with His right hand to be a Prince and Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. Do you get what this scripture is saying? Imagine God sat on His throne and saw the evil in our hearts. But, His great love is so strong, so pure, so real that  He didn't want us to go to hell. So, He sent His Son, to come and lead us like sheep back into the fold - so that we could repent, so that that we could make a decision to turn away from the evil things that satisfy the flesh. And, when we make the decision to walk away from sin, God doesn't just leave us there stranded, but instead He pours out His forgiveness upon us! What a Mighty God we serve!
My brothers and sisters, God knows that we are trapped in flesh. He knows that even after we have chosen to live for Him we may fall back many times into diverse sin. For me, that may mean giving an attitude, or harboring evil thoughts, for others it may be going back to addictions and behaviors that are questionable. But, being the loving God that He is He already made provision for us for when these things happen. Lamentations 3:22 - 23 tells us that God's mercies are new for us every morning. He knew we would need His mercies every single day. He said that none of us are righteous and that we fall short of His glory, daily. God is not turning us away because of our shortcomings. He is offering us His mercy and His forgiveness so that we can move forward in our walk with Him...
Don't fall and stay down. Get up and Move Forward!

Evangelizing is Serious Business!

According to the Merriam Webster's Online Dictionary, to Evangelize means 'to try to convert (a group or area) to a different religion (especially Christianity). In my understanding, I figured it was telling people of the great, awesome God I met, and how one encounter with Him changed my life. I believed that I had a responsibility to let them know how much they are loved by the God who created all things and that nothing they ever did - wrong or right - could separate them from the marvelous love of God. As long as the person had received the Word, and came to baptism, I thought the rest of Christianity was up to them. But, I am learning that it takes more from us. We still have work to do.
People get baptized and commit themselves to the house of the Lord for many different reasons. If those reasons do not center around desiring a true, intimate relationship with God, then sadly, we watch people fall back into sin. It's easy to sit back and think to ourselves that the person didn't truly connect with God, or that they were deceived by the enemy, or they simply gave in to the lusts of the flesh. But, I can't help but feel that we have to be more diligent and active in their spiritual growth as they move from babes to mature children of God. Maybe we need to pray for them, encourage them with a Word, listen to their problems and help them to seek counsel from the leadership of the church. Maybe we need to pick them up and bring them to church so they could develop a sense of commitment. Maybe we need to involve them in activities that would help them to fit in and feel accepted. Maybe we can help them develop their prayer habits, and pair up with them to fast. Maybe, just maybe, it is much more than 'leading to the pasture' but includes teaching them to graze!
I am saddened to see many men and women, with such great calls upon their lives, walk out of the Kingdom to return to the old things. It pains me to know that they felt so burdened, so hurt, alone, and broken, that the weight of their lives got too heavy, that they never truly experienced Christ and so they turned their backs on the ONLY one who could love them so deeply, so purely, so unconditionally...
Let's not look at backsliding as only their problem. Today let's search ourselves to find out where we could have been more instrumental in helping them to truly come to a place where they could seek God, and find Him, where they would refresh themselves daily in His Word, where they can be truly rooted and grounded in His Kingdom. Let us help people to come to Christ - and let us do what we can to help each other to STAY under the shadow of the Almighty...

Are You Ready?

The above video clip highlights strange loud booms like those of a trumpet being reported in various places around the globe. People are hearing these loud sounds for hours, sometimes days at a time, and cannot find its source.
As a Christian, I'm thinking it's a sign from Heaven that is warning us that the coming of Christ is near! In the book of Revelation, chapter 19, verses 11 - 16, tells us about the anticipated event of the figure of Christ clothed in white and coming on the clouds on a white horse. Here, He has an army behind Him dressed in the same way and all on horses ready to enter the earth! For me, I am not prophesying that this is the exact time, but I'm merely saying it is time for self-reflection and self-examination. I don't know if I am ready for the coming of the Lord. I don't know if I have made it right with Him daily. I don't know if my thought life glorifies Him. I am not sure that ALL my actions, words, behaviors, and deeds are well pleasing to Him. I know that I need to work on my prayer life more. I know that there is so much more I could be doing for Him. I know I am not perfect and still need Christ to work in me and through me before His coming. I know I am a work in progress. I may not be ready - but these sounds and other unexplainable happenings are surely enough to persuade me to GET RIGHT WITH CHRIST!!!!

Once Again, Fear God

Reference Scriptures :  Psa 19:9, Exo 20:20, Heb 1:9, Deut 4:10, Psa 2:11, Psa 103:13, 17, Psa 147:11, Isa 33:6, Luke 1:50, 2 Cor 7:1, 1 John 4:18

Recently, I have been facing a situation that seemed to have been pending for what felt like a lifetime. But, as I looked toward the heavens, I noticed the rains ceased from falling, the dark clouds parted and made way for the brilliance of a new, glorious season filled with promise! However, as I stepped out into the dawn of the day, I saw where the prospect of sin appeared tempting and enticing. As I watched myself be subtly deceived by the enemy, I was fortunate enough to hear the voice of my Saviour pleading with me to come back to Him - my first love! Running towards Him with fervour and determination in my step, I found my God with arms wide open before me, waiting with a loving embrace I didn't even realize I longed for.... 

But, as I pressed into my Beloved again, He spoke softly, gently and sweetly, these precious words that serve as a lesson for us all :

'The FEAR of the Lord is CLEAN' (Psa 19:9)

My friends, in order to really come to that place where we fear God, we have to be ready and willing to give up sin. This requires that we be diligent in seeking Him, by developing a true and intimate relationship with Our God that allows us to really get to know the 'person' He is. As we go into His presence and talk to Him in prayer, we begin to know Him and thus develop that fear for Him. When we truly fear Him, when we can say we reverence Him and are in awe of Him, we will see sin in our lives, almost automatically. This fear of God is not about fearing His wrath, but it's deep rooted in love for Him that comes only through a sincere relationship with Him.

God desires us. He doesn't want us the way men want us. He has a desire to be with us ever moment of every day. He desires to walk and talk with us, to fellowship with us, to hold us, to mold us, to shape us into the victorious beings he designed us to be. He wants ALL of us - the good parts and the bad... When we begin to understand the depths of His love, we will adopt a lifestyle of worship before Him. But, in order to worship God, in order to give Him worship that pleases Him, it must flow from the inside of us... it must come from the fear we have for Him. True worship is not an outward show for people to see, it pleases God when we worship Him because we respect Him, because we know He is ALL Mighty, He is Powerful, He is Supreme. Our greatest treasure, our most prized possession is having a fear of God. This fear causes us to draw closer to Him, to receive His anointing and His blessing. 

Our God is a just God, and nothing we do goes unnoticed or unrewarded by Him... Therefore, when we fear God, WE benefit.

Benefits of having a fear for God include...

1. He loves us (Psa 103:13)

2. His lovingkindness is continually upon us (Psa 103:17)

3. He favors us (Psa 147:11)

4. His mercy is upon us and our generations ahead of us (Luke 1:50)

Love God, Fear Him, and enjoy the benefits today!!

We will have our 3rd Day!

At this time thousands of years ago, one man, blameless, spotless, without sin, gave Himself up as a sacrifice to save the ones He loved. A man, whose very nature is love, saw the filth that enveloped the people He longed to enjoy an intimate relationship with, and couldn't love them any less... This same man walked into the torment, the mocking, the rejection, the persecution, the injustice, the denial, the ridicule, the insults, the beatings, and the torture, as a lamb to the slaughter. He battled the fear of His impending demise in His human form, never allowing Himself to be distracted from the purpose for which He came. He suffered through, all the while seeing the faces of those He longed to welcome into His Mighty Kingdom.

Jesus Christ came with the sole purpose of saving the ones He loved from an eternity in Hell. He Himself created this vile place for Satan and his demons... and it was not, and is not His intention that mankind accompany the devil into this everlasting place of torment. The Bible says that God took on the form of flesh - He lowered His own reputation to come to the Earth as a man, to die an undeserving death as the payment needed to save us from our sins. 
We know the story by now. Judas sold out Jesus for 30 pieces of silver, and thus He was taken captive, and was crucified. To die by crucifixion is no simple and easy way to go. This type of death is a method of slow and painful execution in which the victim is tied or nailed to a large wooden beam and left to hang for several days until eventual death from exhaustion and asphyxiation (an acute lack of oxygen). And He endured it all.
During this time and season, believers may be facing intense battles, feeling the pressures as if they are in the war zone and finding themselves constantly dodging the fiery darts as they are shot at them from all directions. Christ went through this too. But, the good news is that He rose again from the dead! He is not here, but Christ is Risen! Death, Hell and the Grave COULD NOT hold Him down. He rose triumphantly! Since we are now yielded to Christ and it is not we that liveth anymore, but Christ that lives in us, we too will go through some valley experiences at this time. Just as He rose again on the third day, so we too are going to rise up from the ashes with resurrection power on our third day! Rejoice then, and be glad. In all things give thanks. The difficulties are now part of the process. It is the road we must take to get to, and to arise with the same power that raised Christ from the dead!

We are the (Continually) Redeemed

The Bible talks about David, a man of humble beginnings who grew to be mighty in stature. Although he had a connection with God, we read that he fell into sin. As the story goes, he lusted after a woman he saw bathing in her balcony, committed adultery with her, and when their affair produced a baby, he went on to have her husband killed. This is quite a mouthful to summarize the actions of a man described as 'being after God's own heart'. But the more intently we look at this account, the more God begins to reveal a beautiful message.

David was already a believer. This means he was like many of us. He gave himself over to the Lord, and was living a life well pleasing to Him, most of the time. However, the devil uses deceitful, subtle tactics to entice us - yes even the believers, as he is no respecter of persons - to sin. We can easily get caught up and thus become entangled with the lusts of the flesh. But God. Firstly, let us be real. Our relationship with the Holy Spirit would allow us to be convicted when we sin. Knowing how pleasurable the act may be, sometimes we choose to ignore the voice of God, and sometimes we look for people (the ungodly) around us to support us in our rejection against the Almighty. David would have been hearing the voice of God. But, as one sin led to another, he kept on with the hope of hiding his wrong doing from people, forgetting momentarily that God is omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent. How many times as believers have we found ourselves in a similar position? Nonetheless, the scriptures tell us, that because of God's amazing love for David, (and us), He provided another way for him to confess and repent of his sin, by sending the prophet Nathan to deliver a word of correction to him. Friends, sometimes when we ignore God's intimate correction, He sends someone to help us. These may be the leadership of the church or brothers and sisters who are flowing with the anointing of Christ. Let us then be submissive like David, and humble ourselves before God as we seek continual redemption for our sins.

God knows we are nothing. He knows that we were formed from the dust since He Himself made us. He knows that because of the nature of our flesh, we would somehow fall into sin. But being the Great God that He is, the God who is abounding in Grace, in Mercy, and in Love, he took up a lower form with no reputation, offering His only begotten Son on the cross of Calvary as the ultimate payment for our sin. Therefore, in the event that we fall into the deceptive traps of the enemy, let us not yield to his condemnation, but instead let us remember that we are not forsaken. The Word of God tells us that if we confess with our mouths and repent with all our hearts, then He who is faithful and just will indeed purify and sanctify us from every unrighteousness. We are told that God constantly delights in mercy and loving kindness. This means then, that as long as we come back to the cross, as long as we do not allow the devil to drag us away from God, we can rest in the hope that we are continually redeemed. Church, when David was corrected, he rented his clothes and made his way into the presence of God, separating himself unto prayer and fasting. When we too, fall along the way, God would not cast us away if we can bring ourselves back to him, ready to exchange our shame and guilt again for His unending Grace and Love. Over and over again, God promises us to have compassion so that we can always find our way back to Him.

Women of God

 ‘…but the woman is [the expression of] man’s glory’ - I Cor 11:7

A man’s honor, his glory is reflected in the woman that stands at his side. He is lifted up and praised by his friends when his wife is a woman of good character, strength and moral uprightness. He is seen as a man of renown, for the woman behind him continually uplifts and encourages him to become the man God has designed and destined him to be. As Godly wives, let us carry ourselves as women who seek God first. Let us take the time to connect with God in secret, where we can be renewed and refreshed in His presence, daily. When we can see the importance of having an intimate relationship with God first, who will clothe us in strength and dignity, then and only then can we be equipped to be the Godly women God has ordained us to be; to our husbands and our families delight.

Endurance...

We live in a world where we all, the saved and unsaved alike, will face a broad range of difficult experiences. People are often left broken, torn, hopeless, rejected....We often harbour feelings of regret, resentment, unforgiveness, and worthlessness among other things.

None of us can escape the trying times. We can be certain then, that we will have to go through the persecutions, rejections, insults, conflicts, situations, necessities and circumstances. We will encounter problems with our spouses, or children, family members, colleagues, acquaintances, neighbours, and many others. We will face challenges such as health issues, financial difficulties, loss, death, bankruptcy, marital separation, divorce, addictions, unplanned pregnancy, emotional and mental issues, abuse, and situations where we feel victimized. 

But, the Word of God, the Truth of God, tells us, that for the Redeemed, for us, the saved, the chosen ones, we are to rejoice when we experience such trials.

Sometimes we have to admit, that doing what God wants - like rejoicing during the most troubling times of our lives - may not be the easiest thing to do. But, if we love Him, we have to make the effort to Do what He suggests. I remember when my husband and I were separated, I felt so heartbroken, so rejected, so forsaken, so lonely, so much like nothing... It certainly was not a time to rejoice. I found myself crying all the time when I was alone. But, honestly, I found that the sorrowful feeling departed quickly when I started to recognize that God was always there. I would wake up all hours of the night looking to see if God had abandoned me, but to my delight, He remained faithful. My crying soon turned into more of a brokenness for God and for who He was to me than what I had been going through in the present situation. Therefore, I was learning to Do what God said. I was rejoicing, no matter how little, in my difficulty, because God was with me, and He wasn't going anywhere!

There are many benefits associated with the difficulties. The experiences teach us lessons that help us to achieve victory. We learn how to depend on and trust God more, to respond and not react to situations and people that may drive us to the edge, and I think most importantly, we learn to do things God's way and not our way. The trials build our hope for our expected end. They help us to recall the faithfulness of God that we saw in past experiences when He brought us through. Therefore, we build our faith in who God is, shifting our focus away from the trials. We experience the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, while the storms of life are still raging.  We will learn that we can rest assured that God has not and will not leave us, as so we can delight even in difficulty. 

A quintessential benefit too, is that the difficulties help us to grow and mature spiritually. We will see that we move from level to level with God as we begin to develop our relationship with Him. We will truly begin to know Him as the "I AM", whatever we need Him to be in our present situation. He fills us with peace, strength, love and acceptance, whatever we need to ensure we endure to the very end where our victory awaits! We have to seek to persist to get through the tough times without growing weary and giving up, because ENDURANCE has its perfect (without fault) result. Endurance has a thorough (complete, careful not to miss or omit any detail) work to do in us so that we can appreciate the blessing and victory at the end of the trial. Endurance will ensure our development of faith where we will lack nothing, no matter how hard it seems, in the present situation.

My friends, we have to joy in the trials because if we believe in Our God, we believe in His Power and Authority that is more than enough to help us secure the victory in our circumstances. As we endure, we put our faith into action. Endurance is a work of faith in itself that once accomplished, brings us into a new place of spiritual maturity to enjoy the many rewards that await us...

'Rejoice, again I say, Rejoice!'

Corrupt Communication

Choosing to walk the path of righteousness was the best decision I ever made... but, it has proven to be trying at times. I have learned, though, that although the journey might be difficult, although it is lonely at times, although the sting of rejection and persecution might be too much to swallow sometimes, it is certainly a worthwhile walk, with major rewards...
One of my problems however, has always been the ability to keep my mouth closed when I feel attacked. It's a reflex reaction to defend myself by allowing the most 'colorful' words flow out of my mouth. But, when I finally made the decision to serve the Lord with all my heart, I began to see the error of my ways.

Then, I came across the above scripture among a few others in my time of study. I started to examine myself and quickly realised that I had my share of unwholesome conversations.... words that were foul, profane, worthless and even vulgar in the eyes of God. Oh how easy it is for us to fall into this temptation, because we can excuse ourselves because of the things we say, as long as it is not what we do... Many times I found myself in situations where my husband would belch out words of ridicule and hopelessness at me, and I would jump at the opportunity to tell him the most distasteful and disrespectful things my mind could think up. But, as a Child of God first, and then a Wife, I have learned that my words are supposed to build up and not break down, so those who hear can be blessed. As THE Church, we have to make a conscious effort to be the difference so we can affect lives for the Kingdom of God. We have to be prepared to DO what God says if we intend to live successful Christian lives.

Friends, as we strive to move forward with God, let us tap into the secrets and the mysteries of the Kingdom so we can live more successful lives. After all, another scripture says, 

I am choosing again today to live for Christ. Thus, I am choosing to refrain from having corrupt conversation flow out of my mouth, be it cursing, profanity, perverseness, slander, abuse, thoughtlessness, hypocrisy, abuse, deceitfulness, crookedness and the like. I am choosing today to declare blessing, to speak truth, thankfulness, wisdom, kindness, and encouragement. I am choosing today to have my words seasoned with salt, so that it can glorify God, which is in Heaven.

I pray today......

Seek to Be Blameless

In today's society, deviating from the norm makes you a person who is viewed as eccentric. You are the ones that steer clear of alcohol and drugs and prefer to wait until you are married to enjoy intimacy with someone. You are the peculiar person who chooses to attend church services on a Friday night than to party until the wee hours of the morning. You wear clothes that cover yet compliment your body, and walk with the power and authority of Christ flowing in you. You are the ones that the 'normal' members of the community despise, ridicule and persecute. You are the ones who are choosing to stand up for righteousness sake - at all cost. I salute you all!
The scriptures say in Romans 12:18-19 (AMP), 'If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for God’s wrath [and His judicial righteousness]; for it is written [in Scripture], “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord'. As believers, we are told that the decision to live at peace with one another is ours to make. When we look around at the trials we face, we tend to focus on how it makes us feel - the hurt, the pain, the frustration, the regret, the rejection, the reproach, the necessity.... but, in the midst of the raging storms of life, we are told that we have to decide if to be at peace with these people, or if to react like they are doing. Being put this way, I find myself in a quandary. For me, it is easy to lay aside the Word, and give in to the emotions aroused in the present circumstance. But, God has given you and me the power to decide - not only to do good, but to receive the just reward of our choice.I have learned through life's greatest teacher - experience - that when we really make the effort to rest the situation in the hands of Jesus, believing that those who hurt me will have to answer to the Living God, He steps in as our Avenger. He's not a part time fictional superhero portrayed on the big screens. He is our personal, on-call, available, Avenger! You see, I have discovered, that when we leave it up to God, we are able to continue to stand before Him blameless. We will continue to be before Him in right standing. We will be able to hear the Words from His mouth, 'well done, my good and faithful servant'. We will be able to recognize His greatness as He moves in our situations on our behalf.Today, I encourage you to give it over to Him. I assure you He will avenge you, that your suffering will not be in vain. Choose to live at peace, while He works on your behalf, so you can continue ti live blameless in His sight.

God's Formula for Success

So many of us want to live a life filled with prosperity and success. In order to achieve this goal, we run after job positions, at any cost, to satisfy the need within us to have more. We sacrifice our family life, our health, and our integrity to pursue after frivolous things, that are merely temporal and worthless. We see from those who have gone before us, diligently seeking after the things money can buy, that after death, the riches they have acquired over a lifetime have been laid up for others to enjoy. But, God has provided a formula for us to follow if we intend to relish the good life, where we, the redeemed, can truly experience victory in our everyday lives. 

Joshua 1:8 teaches us that, ‘this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success’. Here, God obviously shows us that if we follow certain criteria, then we will have great and marvelous rewards. We see from this scripture, that if we meditate moment by moment (think intently about what God is saying) and make a diligent effort to do the things we are being taught, then and only then can we prosper and have good success. 

We must be willing then to pay the price of making time to firstly read the Word of God that has been provided to us. Its not about making excuses, but to get serious about God and about our walk with Him. Secondly, we have to literally eat the Word as often as the air we breathe. The more we do this, the more we shift our focus from the problems, the challenges, the situations and the difficulties we face, to the Way Maker - Jesus Christ. The more we fill ourselves with His Word, the more we build our faith and our trust in Him, and thus the more confident we become in our God, knowing without doubt that the impossible is about to become possible in our lives! Finally, if we take what we receive from the Word, and put it into action by applying it to our daily lifestyle, then we will be rewarded handsomely.

As we fulfill these requirements, we will see prosperity and success in every area of our lives. We will have faithful, loving relationships with our spouses, children and family members. We will be happy and at peace, enjoying the rest provided in God alone. We will have strength to endure the journeys of life. We will move to new places in ministry and servanthood, and go from glory to glory as the blessing of God will overtake us! Be certain, that the luxuries of this would will certainly come, our barns will be filled, and our food baskets will never go empty. We will be protected and defended by the Most High. We will be healed, delivered and set free, as we live in the liberty of Christ Jesus!

The door to a greater depth of success has been unlocked. Apply the formula and watch God work in your life today!

Throw off the Grave Clothes

Jesus raised His friend Lazarus from the dead, by calling him out of the grave. When Lazarus walked out, Jesus told the people around them, to remove the grave clothes and let Lazarus go, as a man alive…

As a Christian, I learn everyday that we are nothing, and God is everything. Recently, I had begun asking God to gut out the impure things that may be hiding within me, and replace those ugly things with more of Him. As He begun to move in me, I saw somethings surface that made me so ashamed of myself at first. But, God quickly reminded me, that He can and will free me from death as He did Lazarus, and that He will indeed loose me from the grave clothes - the old sinful ways, the lusts of the flesh, the worldly desires that I was once so comfortable with in the world. 

God is so awesome! Loose me Lord, and throw off my grave clothes, so I can be filled with more of You!

God and Marriage

Mark 10:9 KJV

‘What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.’

God Himself joined man and wife together. He created marriage as we see in Genesis 2:21 -24. Here, God sees Adam alone, and decides it should not be so. He causes Adam to fall asleep and takes one of his ribs to make a woman. He presents the woman to him and the two are joined together as man and wife. Later, as they both sin and are sent out of the garden, we see that Adam is allowed to take his ‘blessing’ with him. Ecc 9:9 explains that ‘the wife is the husband’s portion' in this life. In other words, she is his blessing - from God Himself! WOW!

God designed marriage for us to be able to understand the love and intimacy God requires us to have with Him. It is written in Hebrews 13:4, that marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled…’ God takes pleasure in marriages and is also a victim of adultery when one spouse leaves. Again, the Word tells us in Malachi 2:14, that ‘..the Lord had been witness between the husband and the wife..’ Therefore, when we choose to leave the promise we made to God to be there for this person for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, til death do us part, we hurt God.

Church, the Amplified version of the Bible reads in Malachi 2:16, ‘…I hate divorce and marital separation…’ Many people in the world, and in the body of Christ are choosing divorce without a second thought. The lives of faithful spouses and children are being destroyed because of prodigals who desert their blessings for the lusts of the flesh. Choose life today. Choose Blessing. Choose to let God be the centre of your marriage and your family. Stand up for your hurting marriage knowing that God can heal and restore that which he originally ordained. 

Today, it is my plea, that you rethink your marriage vows before choosing the pleasures of sin. Hold fast to your first love, Jesus Christ… He remains faithful, won’t you?

Lisa is an extraordinary and mighty woman 

in the Kingdom of Christ

and it is because she is most humble, 

surrendering her life unto the Lord,

for his will to be done in her life, 

that she continues to shine whenever she goes

and be a beacon of light for the world to see.

 

Lisa inspires us to worship King Jesus, 

with all our heart, mind and soul,

She inspires us to shout praises unto the One True God,

She inspires us to stand strong in the wonderful name of Jesus

Lis, you have inspired me to persist 

even when I felt as though I was on the verge of giving up

& you reminded me that we all have a great purpose in this world, 

because we are of great worth and importance to Jesus.

The Holy Spirit within you truly speaks to others,

to give support and encouragement in the most timely manner

and I pray that God will continue to use you,

to bring glory and honour to his name.

 

Lisa's heart is pure,

filled with love, care, devotion and affection.

The cry of the broken vessel...

Father, can You unlock the door to your throne room and let me enter in?

If thou doest well....

Recently, I have been facing a situation where I was at fault and had to be taught a lesson by God Himself. Its never easy when we are wrong, but as long as we can submit to God's authority, we will pass the test and advance to new levels with Him.

Genesis chapter 4 talks about two sons of Adam and Eve. Cain, the older, was a tiller of the soil, a farmer, while Abel was a keeper of sheep, a shepherd. They both knew God, but it becomes clearer that they each had a different relationship with Him. When the time of sacrifice came, both men were faithful in presenting an offering unto God, one that God accepted and the other, rejected.

A bible study service at church taught me that Abel's relationship with God was evidently deeper and Abel respected God more than his brother. When Abel brought his sacrifice of an animal, in my understanding, it means that he had to take time to prepare it for the offering. By the time he presented it, God was satisfied with Abel's gift, since he did it with an unblemished heart, out of love.  Cain's offering of crops was rejected by God. He questioned God about His decision, and God told him, that if he had done well, his sacrifice would have been accepted, like his brother's. In a wave of jealously, we later learn, that Cain killed his brother over the matter. 

The thing is, what we bring to God is not the question of weather it be rejected or not. It is how we do it. For example, do we give God worship from our hearts, or do we just allow sound to escape from our lips? Do we meet with God in the early hours of the morning to speak to him in prayer, or do we just utter some words when we remember to pray? Did Cain bring crops that were left over, or rotting among the few good ones? Did he intentionally decide to give to God after he had taken for himself? Did he give God something that costed him or did he give Him something that meant nothing? 

Church, after the offering, God gave Cain an opportunity to do the right thing when he told him to do well, so that his sacrifice will be accepted. I believe for myself today, that there are many areas where I have grown comfortable and have not been doing well in the eyes of God. I have learned in this time to give God something that will be accepted - not rejected. Let us take God more seriously, for He is our Creator. He stands over us in all power and authority. If we do well in His sight, blessings will follow... if not the curse will overtake us - Cain became a vagabond and a wanderer - a cursed man!
Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice... He gave his body over to torment, persecution, beating... He was spat upon, insulted, ridiculed, abused... and He did it out of love for you and me. Let us therefore NOW, give Him a sacrifice that He deserves... I chose to do well... what do you choose?

Perfect Love Casts Out Fear

Do you suffer from fear or insecurity? What about the fear of lack? Are you worried that God won't come through for you? 

I have been there too. 

I have been literally worried sick about so many things, including my past, my future, my finances, what people thought about me. And because I couldn't get my mind off of my problems, I found myself in a place of utter torment. 

But we do not have to fear that God doesn't love us or that He won't come through for us in our time of need. We need to learn to accept the reality of His love for us, so that our fears do not control us. 

First John 4:18 says that perfect love casts out fear. If you're afraid of facing a person or a situation in your life, God's love can help you put your fears to rest. 

The Cure for Insecurity

Because I had been abused in my childhood and was fearful of being hurt or taken advantage of, I became very insecure. And I spent many years trying to control everything and everyone in my life. 

Instead of trying to control and manipulate people, I needed to learn to trust God, pray, and believe that He would do what was best for me at the right time. Most of all, I needed to abide in His love. 

First John 4:16 points out that we should be conscious of God's love. It needs to be more than just a biblical fact for us…we need to experience it daily. 

Several years ago I was so desperate for a revelation of God's love that I began to keep a journal of the things He did in my life that I believed displayed His love. No matter how small they were, I recorded them. 

When people gave me things, I recorded it. When I was shown favor in situations, I recorded it. When God answered prayers and did things for me that I had requested, I recorded it… 

This process helped me become conscious of His love, and I began to heal. I found out that the love of God is the cure for the insecure. 

Overcoming the Fear of Lack

Another major fear people face is the fear of lack. The fear that your needs won't be met—that God won't come through for you in time. 

You may be in a situation that you've never been in before, facing all kinds of new responsibilities. You may have needs that are beyond your resources and the spirit of fear is attacking you, telling you that you aren't going to make it. You may feel like nobody else cares. But God cares. 

In fact, Hebrews 13:5-6 says you can trust God to come to your rescue. 

Even when it seems that absolutely nothing is happening in your life, He is working. Beloved, God has a good plan for you, and He'll manifest it right on time. 

If you need financial support, He'll provide. If it's physical support you need, He'll sustain you. If you need emotional support, He'll comfort you. He'll nourish you and bring you back to a place of strength. 

God is for you. He is not against you. Satan is against you, but the greater One lives in you! 

Let Nothing Separate You from God's Love

During hard times and moments of insecurity, Satan works overtime trying to convince us that God doesn't love us—that if He did, either we wouldn't be in this situation, or He would've delivered us by now. 

I confess with my own mouth the truth that God does love me during these attacks of fear. And I encourage you to say several times a day with confidence, "God loves me!" Don't allow the devil to steal this truth from you. 

Romans 8:38-39, which I pray will comfort you right now, says: 

For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. 

As long as you refuse to let anything separate you from God's love, you will have the victory.
